About

I am a landscape photographer based in the Lake District of the UK. I am a Licentiate of The Royal Photographic Society and my work has been recognised through being placed in, or having won, a number of photographic competitions. This includes having been a finalist/shortlisted/commended in: Wildlife Photographer of the Year (2015), Travel Photographer of the Year (2015 and 2017), Outdoor Photographer of the Year (2017), Environmental Photographer of the Year (2018), Landscape Photographer of the Year (2020), Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year (2021), the International Garden Photographer of the Year (2023) and the Earth Photo Competition (2019, 2021, 2022).

My primary photographic passions are for woodlands and mountainous environments. Mountain photography is probably my first love and has arisen from having been a climber and mountaineer for many years. Woodland photography has become an increasingly major focus of my work in recent years. I very much enjoy the challenge of composing something ordered out of the chaos often found on first encountering a woodland.

As well as mountains and forests, you will also find images of other aspects of the natural and human worlds.
